Special Guest Victoria Price To Attend Ava Gardner Festival

SMITHFIELD – The Ava Gardner Museum has announced that Victoria Price, renowned horror film star Vincent Price’s daughter, will attend this year’s Ava Gardner Festival. Victoria will make a presentation to festival guests on Saturday, October 8th at 3pm, which will be followed by a book signing. She will also introduce the film screening of The Bribe on Saturday night at the Smithfield Cinemas at 7:30pm.
“Victoria visited the museum several years ago to present on her dad’s films and friendship with Ava Gardner and everyone loved meeting her”, stated Lynell Seabold, Museum Executive Director, “we are thrilled to welcome her back to the museum for this year’s festival.”
Victoria Price, is an American public speaker and the author of the memoir, The Way of Being Lost: A Road Trip to My Truest Self and Vincent Price: A Daughter’s Biography. She has also written the preface for a 50th-anniversary edition of A Treasury of Great Recipes, a cookbook written by Vincent Price and his wife Mary. She currently spends much of her time traveling and speaking about the life of her father, Vincent Price, as well as discussing self-development topics.

More new developments for this year’s festival include activities and special offers from Downtown Smithfield merchants. Restaurants, boutiques, and attractions have embraced the festival, offering the following: The Gilded Pear Brew House will be serving Ava Gardner’s signature coffee, The Goddess Blend by Breakfast At Dominique’s, and offering a 15% discount on food and beverage purchases. SoDoSoPa restaurant will be serving an Old-Fashioned cocktail using Ava Gardner Select Bourbon. Shoppers will receive 10% discounts on merchandise at the Johnston County Museum, LadyBug Designers, Oak City Collection, and 20% at Boutique 12/20. Mystic Anointings has created an exclusive Classic Star essential oil blend roller inspired by some of Ava’s favorite scents and is offering sessions for $15.00.
The Great Sinner will play at the Howell Theatre, the Downtown Smithfield movie theatre where it had its world premiere in 1949! This special showing will be held at 7pm on Sunday, October 8. Admission is $8.50. Also, for festival-goers and visitors to the area, there will be an Octoberfest street fair on South Third Street from 12n-8pm with art vendors, German foods, breweries, and more.
