SMITHFIELD – Crystal Heinzerling, a teacher at Smithfield Selma High School, has won a NC Farm Bureau Going Local “Ag in the Classroom” Grant.
Crystal will use the $500 grant to purchase mobile raised bed gardens that can move around the school. Her students will be growing vegetables and herbs.
Johnston County Farm Bureau President Tracy Denning presented Crystal’s grant certificate at the January meeting of the Johnston County Farm Bureau board.
