Stolen Porsche Electric Car Recovered After Battery Dies
BENSON – A stolen Porsche Taycan electric vehicle, valued at $100,000, was recovered early on August 5 after it ran out of battery power near McGee’s Crossroads.
A Johnston County deputy found the car abandoned beside Interstate 40 around 2:54 a.m. After contacting the registered owner in Wake County, deputies confirmed the vehicle had been stolen a short time earlier.
The car’s onboard systems showed it had simply run out of charge, rendering it inoperable. It was recovered without damage and returned to its owner. The suspect remains at large as the investigation continues.
