A stolen vehicle was found on fire in Johnston County overnight. At 9:05pm Tuesday, the Wilson’s Mills Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire off the roadway in the 400 block of Little Divine Road, Selma. The fire was discovered by a neighbor who called 911.
The 2019 Chevrolet Equinox valued at $30,000 was a total loss.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and Johnston County Fire Marshal responded to the scene and are investigating. The fire was ruled arson.
The Equinox had been reported stolen to Crabtree Valley Mall Police. It was owned by a 45 year-old Clayton resident.
There were no injuries reported.
