KENLY – Johnston County deputies were able to make a quick arrest in the theft of a canine.
Lori Jackson Durham, age 50, was charged with felony larceny of a dog and two misdemeanor counts of simple assault.
It happened on June 7 around 12:01pm on US 301 near Weaver Road. A 34 year-old Dunn woman was pet sitting a dog for a friend at their home.
The pet sitter allowed the dog out of the home to use the bathroom. While keeping a watchful eye on the dog, the pet sitter said a stranger, later identified as Durham, grabbed the dog from the yard and began pulling the animal down Weaver Road.
The pet sitter and her juvenile daughter got into their car and drove to where Durham and the dog were located in the roadway. The pet sitter confronted Durham at which time she was reportedly struck in the shoulder with a closed fist. Her teenage daughter was allegedly pushed.
Deputies arrived and arrested Durham without further incident. The dog was returned to the pet sitter without any injuries.
The incident appears to have been random.
According to an arrest report, Lori Durham does not have an address and is listed as “Homeless, Kenly, NC.”
She was harassing me saying “I was a government spy sent to watch her since she was a child” at big boys truck stop a few nights ago

They need to do something to her. Because apparently they have nothing out there to help her. Getting her out to letting her roam the streets and doing things to kids and to other people is just wrong.
I would like too know who keeps bailing her out? Whoever it is should be 100% responsible for her actions.. I would hate too be locked up in a cell with her.. that would be cruel punishment no doubt..
