CLAYTON – A Clayton High School student was injured in a single vehicle accident Tuesday morning while headed to school. The accident happened just before 7:00am on NC Highway 42 East near Trillium Way.
The teenage driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital by Johnston County EMS.
At one time, westbound traffic on NC Highway 42 was backed up to Buffalo Road.
The State Highway Patrol responded and investigated the accident.
