Attorney: Student Vaccinated Without His Or His Parents’ Consent

GREENSBORO – A Johnston County law firm has been retained by the parents of a Guilford County school student reportedly given the COVID-19 vaccination without his consent.

Emily Happel, the mother of Tanner Smith, has retained the legal services of Attorney Steven Walker of Walker Kiger, PLLC in Johnston County to represent her and her son’s interests. The law firm says Tanner was illegally vaccinated without his or his mother’s consent by the Old North State Medical Society, which was working in conjunction with Guilford County Schools.

“No matter what your position is on vaccines, we should all be able to agree that children should not be subjected to medical procedures without their parents’ knowledge and consent,” said Attorney Walker.

“We have made multiple attempts to try to resolve this issue with Guilford County Schools and the Old North State Medical Society and we have been met with nothing but deafening silence. Unfortunately, we have no other recourse than to take legal action against those who so flagrantly violated the rights of Emily and Tanner.”

On August 19, 2021, then 14-year-old Tanner Smith was informed by a letter that, because of a cluster of COVID-19 cases among football players at Western Guilford High School, he would need to report for a COVID-19 test in order to continue participating on the football team. Testing was to take place on August 20, 2021. According to their attorney, Tanner was driven to the testing site by his stepfather. His stepfather stayed in the car while Tanner went inside. When Tanner arrived inside, the workers gave him a form to fill out, which Tanner believed to be something related to the test. Unbeknownst to Tanner, there was a vaccination clinic at the location that was jointly ran by Old North State Medical Society and Guilford County Schools.

The attorney stated that prior to injecting Tanner, the staff at the clinic attempted to call Mrs. Happel and receive consent to inject Tanner with a COVID-19 vaccine, but their calls were unsuccessful. They did not attempt to contact Tanner’s stepfather who was on the premises of the clinic. Instead of simply testing Tanner – which was never done – they gave him a COVID-19 vaccine. Tanner did not understand that the staff intended to vaccinate him until he saw a needle. He expected a nasal swab but was injected against his own wishes and his mother’s wishes.

The law firm contends the flier promoting the clinic, which was produced by Guilford County Schools and Old North State Medical Society clearly states, “Students age 12-17 must have their parent or guardian sign the consent form and bring the completed form to the vaccination site.”

Mr. Walker alleges Guilford County Schools and the Old North State Medical Society’s zeal to vaccinate a child without consent led them to do so in violation of their own stated and advertised policy, and in violation of Emily and Tanner’s statutory and constitutional rights.

  1. Good for them suing the school system! This was criminal and they should be held accountable. They are very lucky he isn’t one one the 1000s of kids his age that have had myocarditis after vaccination cause they would be in even more hot water.

  2. “No matter what your position is on vaccines, we should all be able to agree that children should not be subjected to medical procedures without their parents’ knowledge and consent,” said Attorney Walker.

This is unfortunately not true. I’m sure many Covidians support forced vaccinations against parents’ consent or the minor’s consent. Many also support the “right” of a minor to have an abortion without their parent’s knowledge. This mindset is not new.

    • Care to provide any evidence that “many Covidians support forced vaccinations against parents’ consent or the minor’s consent”?

    • You have lost your mind if you think it’s OK to do whatever to a underage kid without parents consent. I just hope that you pack your bags and move to a country that best suits you like China or NK.

  3. You are an idiot. Of course a covidian would support the child being forced. That’s as stupid as saying a Biden voter supports EVERYONE voting for Biden and no one else even if they have to be forced.
