Johnston County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Causby will hold an open meeting with any Clayton High parents who would like to meet with him today (Tuesday) from 5:05 p.m. to 5:35 p.m. in the school’s media center.
Dr. Causby is meeting with groups of other school officials throughout the day, but this is the only meeting that is jointly open to public and the media.
Last week, Dr. Causby announced 13 students at Clayton High received their diplomas this year even though they didn’t have enough course credits to graduate.
In June 2019, an investigation was launched into the athletics program at the school following allegations of grade changing and recruiting violations.
In August, Principal Bennett Jones was reassigned to the Central Office. Jones also filed a grievance against Superintendent Dr. Ross Renfrow who retired suddenly on Aug. 28th. Football coach Hunter Jenks resigned Aug. 20th.
Dr. Causby said recently he is currently reviewing the grievance filed by Dr. Jones which reportedly demands his reinstatement as principal at Clayton High.
