KENLY – A Four Oaks man was arrested June 13 for possession of stolen property. The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office charged Arron Scott Lowery, 44, of Hannah Creek Road with the felony offense.
On May 29 around 2:30pm, a landscaper said they had stopped on S. Church Street in Kenly for lunch. When they returned to their work truck, a Stihl backpack leaf blower valued at $600 had been stolen.
The victim later found the blower for sale on Facebook Marketplace and notified deputies.
Authorities did not say if Lowery was the one who placed the online ad, but he is charged with possessing the stolen leaf blower. Lowery was held on a $25,000 secured bond.
FB Marketplace and Craigslist are full of stolen property.
