Suspect Linked To Catalytic Converter Thefts

JOHNSTON COUNTY – The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect for the alleged theft of two catalytic converter from vehicles at Cleveland Childcare & Development at Japwood Place, Garner.

Harvey James Beard IV, of McKay Drive, Spring Lake, NC was formally arrested April 18th.

On March 17, an employee at the childcare facility reported catalytic converters had been stolen from two buses in the parking lot.

Beard was charged with larceny of motor vehicle parts and injury to property. He was held under a $90,000 secured bond.

Sheriff’s investigators told The Johnston County Report the 23 year-man is a person of interest in several other catalytic converter thefts in the area.
