Suspect Linked To Johnston County Car Break-Ins
A 24 year-old Clayton man is facing multiple charges. Cordero Delfino Ponce of Blue Pond Road was arrested June 2 in connection with three recent car break-ins. He is under investigation for other unsolved car burglaries in recent weeks.
Ponce is accused of breaking into a car on Brazil Nut Lane, Smithfield on April 4 stealing a handgun.
On May 2, a break-in was reported on Muscadine Way, Smithfield where $150 in cash, a firearm, holster, and check were taken from a vehicle.
On May 23, a resident on Bodacious Lane, Benson said their car had been entered and $1,200 in property stolen, including a 9mm handgun, debit and credit cards, iPad, and military identification.
Ponce was arrested after a search warrant was executed on his vehicle and some of the stolen property was recovered. He was held on a $295,000 secured bond charged with numerous offenses including breaking and entering a motor vehicle, larceny of a firearm, larceny, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of stolen property, financial card theft, identity theft, simple possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Don’t leave anything in your car, especially a gun.
People Bring your guns inside with you!!! Simple task, saves headaches and potentially a life.
I wonder if the guns were recovered. Why would these people leave the guns in their cars? I think the gun owners should not get the guns back but also have the weapons permit revoked. They proved that they are not responsible enough to own a gun. As far as the thief goes, glad they got you but how did you know these cars had a gun in them. Seems that was the only cars you broke into.
I know you probably don’t speak Spanish. I do because it is the language of my family. I am writing this about the criminal suspect in this article.
His name: Cordero Delfino Ponce. The first part CORDERO means LAMB in Spanish. The second part DELFINO means dolphin.
So his name is LAMB DOLPHIN. We do not name people like that in Spanish. Is he telling the truth about his name? I don’t think so.
I happen to know this young man personally and he is who he say he is. More over, he is a fine young man who have gotten off on the wrong track and with the wrong people. We may even pause to wait to see if he is guilty of any of these things. Please do not put so much time into judging people without all the information.
