Smithfield Police are searching for a lone suspect who broke into the Salvation Army at 306 North Brightleaf Boulevard. Security cameras captured the 5:50am burglary last Friday morning.
Police Captain R.K. Powell said the suspect broke out a window to gain entry to the building. Once inside the suspect went into several offices but did not appear to take any items.
The suspect was described as a black male wearing a dark hat and clothing. The suspect had a beard and also wore glasses.
Anyone who has any information about the Jan. 15th break-in at the Salvation Army is asked to contact Smithfield Police at 919-934-2121.
