SMITHFIELD – Smithfield Police arrested a 30 year-old motorist during a traffic stop on driving while impaired and misdemeanor child abuse charges. On Jan. 28 at approximately 11:27pm, police stopped a tan 2006 Mercury on West Market Street near Wilson’s Mills Road.
The driver, identified as Kristen Simone Gullant of Smithfield, was arrested for suspected DWI. She later registered 0.12 on the Breathalyzer, above the legal limit of 0.08, police said.
A 4 year-old child was reportedly in the car with Gullant. Officers said there was no child car seat in the vehicle and the child was not restrained.
Gullant was released on a $2,500 bond pending a March 4 appearance in Smithfield District Court.
What a wonderful person…
Seriously, WTH is wrong with some of these people!??? 1st, she looks a hot mess 2) inebriated 3) child not even buckled up???? Come on lady. Do better for yourself, your kids, and society. We have enough tragedy in our county. Be the difference by doing the right things….not the wrong things.
That breaks my heart for the child. She probably was raised in a grap environment with non caring adults herself.
