WILSON’S MILLS – US Highway 70 near Wilson’s Mills was shut down for a brief time overnight. Around 10:30pm Tuesday, the operator of a compact passenger car traveled off US 70 near Bear Farm Road and into the rear of a safety truck parked on the shoulder.

The unoccupied safety truck had been placed on the shoulder after a protective end-cap on a construction barrier had been damaged in a traffic accident at the same location Monday.

The 22 year-old female driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital by EMS. A cat inside her car died in the accident.

The Highway Patrol cited the woman for driving while impaired, open container of alcohol, and failure to maintain lane control.

    • I would think it would already have been reduced in speed but with Wilson Mills only has limited officers hopefully the Sheriff’s Department and others would help..

  1. You stupid, thoughtless cat murderer! You killed an innocent pet that trusted your dumb a** – hope you are punished for this !!!

  2. I hate people that DWI. Thank God there were no men at that truck at the time she hit it. People that Drink and drive only think about themselves. Low lives is what they are and should serve a good amount of time in jail. That dead cat could have been a person but thank God it was not. I say Book her Dano!
