BENSON – The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious fire near Benson. The blaze was reported around 2:00am Tuesday in the 11000 block of Highway 301 South.
A Ram truck and Hyundai Sonata parked in the driveway of a home were burned. The vehicle fires were hot enough to melt some of the vinyl siding on the home.
Damage to the vehicles was estimated at $41,000. Damage to the home was placed at approximately $2,000.
