SMITHFIELD – A West Smithfield Elementary teacher and administrator were reportedly assaulted by a student. The incident happened January 11 at the school, located at 2665 Galilee Road.
The student was in a classroom when they allegedly physically assaulted a teacher. Other students in the classroom ran to get help. An administrator arrived and was also physically assaulted as he tried to restrain the student.
The student then tried to kick and bite a school resource officer who responded to the classroom.
Only minor injuries were reported.
Johnston County Report has learned the student will face disciplinary action from West Smithfield Elementary but no criminal charges are anticipated. No further information was released because the incident involved a minor.
Our children witness our leaders and their parents throwing temper tantrums and committing acts of violence. It’s no wonder why our youth are the way they are.
If schools start holding parents accountable, these type of things would stop.

Man, this kid has a bad temper. I don’t want to say anything bad about him because the boy might have mental problems, but he sure does not belong in a school with normal kids.
Time to hold parents responsible for their minor children.
But the superintendent and his cabinet members got a raise because they are doing such a good job…so there’s that.
