Smithfield Police are investigating a Thanksgiving Day burglary at the home of an elderly couple.
The break-in was reported between 4:15pm and 7:20pm last Thursday at their E. Church Street home.
While the couple – both in their 70’s – were away from their house for a few hours, someone forcibly entered their home through a window and stole an undisclosed amount of money and prescription medication.
Police Chief Keith Powell said the case has been assigned to the detectives division and officers are following up on leads in the case.
