MIDDLESEX – The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a break-in where items were stolen from the home of a man who recently passed away. The break-in was occurred on Woodard’s Dairy Road in northeastern Johnston County.
The man passed away in December 2021. Family members went to the home recently to check on the property. When they arrived they discovered where someone had forced their way inside.
Deputies said several items inside the home had been moved around and a car parked outside had also been rummaged through.
The only items missing were a Dale Earnhardt collectible cereal box and a Rusty Wallace NASCAR clock.
The break-in has been assigned to a detective. At last report, no arrests had been made.
