Detectives with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office are investigating recent incidents at two Johnston County churches. On February 3, the pastor at Iglesia Pentecostal Church at 1508 Bizzell Grove Church Road, Selma reported a 6×16 foot tandem axle utility trailer was stolen from the church parking lot. Security cameras captured the theft at 11:50am that day.
Two unknown suspected fled with the trailer in tow behind a blue 2003-06 Lincoln Navigator. The stolen trailer was valued at $2,000.
On February 7, a member at Randall Chapel Church, at 278 Randall Chapel Road, Newton Grove, reported a catalytic converter had been stolen from a church van in the parking lot. The converter was valued at $1,000.
