SMITHFIELD – Police are investigating three business break-ins reported this week.
On Monday, Jan. 16th, an employee at Hope Services, LLC at 1329 N. Brightleaf Boulevard discovered the business had been forcibly entered. Once inside, the suspect took the keys to a company-owned Toyota van and stole the vehicle from the parking lot. The van, valued at $15,000 had not been recovered, at last report. Officers think the burglary happened sometime Jan. 15 or 16.
On Tuesday, Jan. 17th, workers at the NC Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) at 1327 N. Brightleaf Boulevard reported a break-in. Police said it occurred sometime between Jan. 15 – 17. Two cell phones valued at about $1,000 were stolen.
Police said a break-in was also reported Jan. 17 at Lavish Auto Sales at 605 S. Brightleaf Boulevard. Someone entered the building and stole a cell phone.
The incidents remain under investigation by Smithfield Police. At last report, no arrests had been made.
