ARCHER LODGE – Around 8:30am Friday (today), a three-car accident brought Buffalo Road traffic to a halt, just south of Archer Lodge. Two people were sent to area hospitals as a result.
One of the drivers said that northbound traffic had stopped when another driver slammed into the rear of a large SUV with 3 children on board. The SUV was pushed forward striking a full-sized pickup truck which had also been stopped.
The SUV driver with the children on board was on her way to drop a child off at Archer Lodge Middle School before returning to River Dell Elementary, where she was to work as a substitute teacher.
The children were all going to be taken to an urgent care to be checked out but did not appear to be seriously injured.
The State Highway Patrol investigated the collision.
