Three Hurt In Early-Morning Crash On Interstate 40

MEADOW COMMUNITY – Three people were injured early Tuesday when two vehicles collided on Interstate 40 in the Meadow community.
The crash was reported at 12:22 a.m. in the eastbound lanes near the 336 mile marker. The impact forced both vehicles off the roadway.
The vehicles sustained significant damage, but the injuries reported were not life threatening.

One eastbound lane of I-40 was shut down for about an hour while crews cleared the scene.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
Meadow Fire and Johnston County EMS responded to the scene.
