Three eateries at the I-40 / NC 42 interchange were broken into just hours apart and authorities suspect the break-ins are all connected.
The break-ins were reported last Wednesday morning at Simple Twist at 5638 NC 42 West, Highway 55 at 152 Bratton Drive, and Jersey Mike’s Subs at 106 Bratton Drive.
In the break-ins at Highway 55 and Simple Twist, safes were stolen containing an undisclosed amount of money. Money was also stolen in the Jersey Mike’s break-in. Entry was made into two of the businesses through doors, while a window was broken out at the third business to gain access inside.
The burlaries are believed to have occurred between 11:00pm Tuesday and 7:00am Wednesday.
