Tim Tebow To Be University Of Mount Olive Spring Commencement Speaker

MOUNT OLIVE – The University of Mount Olive has announced that Tim Tebow will be its May commencement speaker.
Tebow is a two-time national champion, first-round NFL draft pick, and Heisman trophy winner. In addition, he serves as a college football analyst for ESPN. Prior to joining ESPN, Tebow played three years in the NFL for the Denver Broncos and the New York Jets.
Tebow is the author of five New York Times Best Selling books. Through My Eyes was named the #1 sports and religion book of 2011, and Shaken: “Discovering your True Identity in the Midst of Life’s Storms” was released in 2016 and won the 2017 Evangelical Christian Publishers Association Book of the Year.
Tebow grew up the son of missionaries and has returned to the Philippines numerous times throughout his life to spread God’s word and do the Lord’s work by serving the needy. The Tim Tebow Foundation was established in 2010 with the goal of bringing faith, hope, and love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need. The foundation fulfills its mission through projects such as building Timmy’s Playrooms in children’s hospitals; providing life-changing surgeries to children of the Philippines through the Tebow CURE Hospital; fighting against human trafficking through HerSong, and sponsoring Night to Shine, a nationwide prom and worldwide movement for people with special needs.
“We are so excited to bring Tim Tebow to our campus,” said University of Mount Olive President Dr. H. Edward Croom. “He is widely known for his athletic accomplishments, but even more impressive is his hard work, character, and commitment to service. Those characteristics are exactly the qualities we strive to communicate to our students here at UMO. I am certain that the class of 2023 will gain great insights from his message and perspective.”
Over 300 bachelor and master’s degree students from the University’s three schools will participate in the spring commencement. These students hail from three continents, five countries, and 20 states. The University’s 69th commencement ceremony is scheduled for May 6, 2023, at 9:30 AM. The event will be for graduates and their ticketed guests.
The University of Mount Olive is a private institution rooted in the liberal arts tradition with defining Christian values. The University is sponsored by the Convention of Original Free Will Baptists. For more information, visit www.umo.edu.

Who cares what Tim Tebow has to say?
I do and he is a great person to provide advice and motivation to these successful students. What a great choice for UMOs commencement!
I agree he is a good guy. But how much do you think It cost them to get him to come talk
I would want someone that came from nothing . Someone that wrote their own book theirselves . Someone who knows what struggle is
Someone who these kids can relate to
He came from parents who were missionaries and instilled a strong faith and work ethic in him. I think he has lots that the graduates from a private Baptist college can relate to. There are struggles all over this earth and Mr Tebow spends his time teaching others abt God and doing good for his community, this is something everyone should strive to do.
Who cares what FDT has to sau
Who cares what you have to “SAY” about FDT
Typical respectful JoCo response
Great motivational speaker.
The fact that people feel it necessary to disparage a commencement speaker proves the power of a godly man speaking. FDT you better get right before you get left. The days are drawing neat when it will be too late.
It’s Obvious Captain, the you believe in a mythical creature that does not exist and you can’t prove it exists You can believe it exists You can wish it exist You can read a book that says it exists but you can’t prove it exists so when you can prove that God actually exists then you have something to say
Can you prove God doesn’t exist?
Would you be in just as much of an uproar if someone who was an open satanist was asked to speak? Or someone who has no belief system? Or do you discriminate and just get upset over Christians?
Jen, as I stated no one can prove God does exists, just like no one can prove Satan exist.
And you didn’t answer the rest of my questions.
So you don’t believe in God or Satan… those that choose to go to a Baptist college probably do so why wouldn’t Mr Tebow be a great commencement speaker for them?
FDT you take a typical stance of most every person who hates God. The old “prove he exists”. Well, I can…I have faith. “ Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen “ Hebrew’s 11:1. You see you have no faith….you can not see him in the birth of a child, the love of a spouse, the care for the helpless. You can never be proven God exists because you have no faith. Because you can’t see something doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. I have a challenge for you. Get a piece of paper and draw a circle that represents all of the knowledge in the world….everything, then inside of that circle draw what you know. Obviously, your circle will be smaller than all of the knowledge in the world, therefore is it possible God could exist between what you know and and all knowledge? If so, you may want to pick up a bible and see where he exists. If you are too afraid I can understand, being proven wrong is sometimes scary but only those with faith can see him…..you have none as I said….so you can’t. You live in darkness, darkness hates light. Just because you can’t see something in the dark doesn’t mean it’s not there. That’s what darkness does.
The lord is real!!!!!!! One thing I hate is almost every preacher is rich. How do you make from spreading the work ?
Most are prosperity preachers which aren’t true preachers. A worker is worthy of his wages.
Caption, I do have faith, faith that God doesn’t exist. Faith takes many forms and yours is not the only faith. Just like your religion is not the only religion. Just like faith has many forms religion has many forms. Unfortunately religious faith has turned into hatred and dictatorship of pushing ones misplaced hypocritical beliefs on others.
#FreedonFromReligon
I’m not talking about religion. I’m talking about relation. Could God exist outside of your sphere of knowledge as I challenged you to see?
Man invented religion, God wants a relation. Big difference.
FTD the fact that you are breathing proves there is a God. Without HIM we can do nothing.
Don’t forget that the islamic all-mighty allah is just a fiery tale that liked underaged girls.
FDT the world would better offf with out you in it
