Free Concert To Celebrate Completion Of Neuse River Amphitheater Renovations
SMITHFIELD – The Neuse River Amphitheater renovations are nearly complete and it’s time to celebrate. The Town of Smithfield will host the local band Bad Decisions for a free concert at the newly renovated amphitheater on Friday, May 5th , at 7:00 p.m. A ribbon cutting will precede the concert.
The renovations to the amphitheater were funded by a State Capital Infrastructure Fund (SCIF) Grant of $989,500 and include new seating, which includes handicap accessibility, a rebuilt stage and new roof, new wiring and lighting, and an improved drainage system.
Originally built in 1987, the design for the project was performed by McAdams company of Raleigh and Balfour Beatty Construction performed the transformations to the amphitheater.

Seems ironic that they are getting a band by the name “Bad Decisions” to perform when they reopen. Then again it might be they are just throwing it in everyone’s face.
