The Smithfield Town Council has agreed to spend $48,673 to update the playground equipment at Smith-Collins Park.
The money is included in the current fiscal year budget.
The playground design was approved unanimously by the
Recreation Advisory Committee.
The Parks and Recreation Department worked with Barrs Recreation LLC in Cary and BCI Burke Company to design a new playground layout that would fit the site design and also be safe and enjoyable.
