Troopers: Drunk Driver Injures 2 People In Hit And Run Crash

The NC Highway Patrol has filed charges in a hit and run accident Saturday afternoon on Highway 301 in Johnston County. The collision was reported around 3:00pm on US 301 at Pittman Road near Micro.

Troopers tell WTSB News a Dodge Ram truck being driven by Connie J. Blan of Selma was traveling west on Pittman Road when she failed to stop for a stop sign at US 301. Her truck traveled into the intersection striking the side of a silver Infinity SUV driven by Kenneth W. Hansley Jr.

After the impact the SUV was forced off the roadway.

Blan fled the scene in her heavily damaged truck but was located a short distance away on Davis Homestead Road and arrested.

Blan was charged with felony hit and run, driving while impaired, driving on a revoked license and a stop sign violation, according to Sgt. J.L. January with the Highway Patrol District Office in Smithfield.

Hansley and a passenger in the SUV sustained injuries and were transported to Johnston Medical Center in Smithfield. They were treated and later released.  Photos courtesy JoCoFire.com
