Expired: Update: Troopers Identify Pedestrian Killed In Early Morning Accident

GARNER – The NC Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal collision this morning (Tuesday) on Highway 50 North at Old Drugstore Road in Johnston County.  It happened around 5:30am.  A pedestrian was sitting in the roadway when he was struck by a car.  The pedestrian died at the scene from his injuries.  The driver of the car immediately stopped and called 911.

Both directions of Highway 50 were closed while the Highway Patrol investigated the collision.  The driver of the car will not face any charges.

The pedestrian did not have any identification. Troopers are asking for assistance identifying the male.  First Sgt. R.B. Maynard described the pedestrian as an Hispanic male in his 20’s to early 30’s, 5 foot 7, 160 pounds, with separate tattoos on his left arm of a scorpion and a cross.  He was wearing a blue t-shirt, blue jeans and brown shoes.
