A pickup truck caught fire while traveling on Market Street in Downtown Smithfield around 10:30am Monday.
The truck was traveling on Market near Second Street when the driver said he noticed smoke coming from underneath the hood. He stopped the truck and noticed it was on fire.
The Smithfield Fire Department responded and discovered fuel was leaking from the burning truck. Firefighters had to use foam to extinguish the flames.
Traffic delays were reported for about an hour until the burned truck could be removed from the roadway.
