For the first time in recent memory there are no longer any vacancies on the Selma Historic Properties Commission.
This month the Selma Town Council filled the final two vacancies with the appointments of Sherry Lane and Rose Marie Evans both of N. Green Street.
In her application for appointment Lane said, “I love historical homes/prefer to see them maintained/restored. I believe new homes can blend into historical areas allowing (the) town to open to (a) larger demographic of citizens.”
Evans said, “…I am a proud owner of one of the historic homes in town. I take great pride in preserving its natural unique beauty and history. I would love to learn more about other historic sites in town and give back to my community.
