Second Accident Involving Motor Grader On I-95 in Johnston County
FOUR OAKS – The State Highway Patrol arrested the driver and passenger of a car that slammed into a motor grader plowing snow. The Saturday afternoon wreck occurred on Interstate 95 near US Highway 701 in Four Oaks.
The motor grader, contracted by the NC DOT, was traveling southbound clearing the paved shoulder when it was struck from behind by a car. The motor grader operator was not injured.
The driver of the car was transported to the hospital for minor injuries. The passenger was not injured.
According to reports, the driver and passenger, both from New York, are facing charges after a felony amount of suspected marijuana was reportedly found in the snow near the wrecked vehicle. The driver was also charged with felony possession of methamphetamine.
Overnight a motor grader clearing snow on Interstate 95 near Selma was also struck from behind, injuring the driver of a Jeep.
