Smithfield Police arrested two drivers on suspicious of driving while impaired within one hour.
Around 11:21pm Thursday, an officer stopped a 2017 Ford Explorer on W. Market Street. The driver, 61 year-old James Ralph Venero of Nolan Drive, Clayton was arrested for DWI. He was released on a custody bond pending a Dec. 13th court appearance.
At 11:59pm, a second officer stopped a 2004 Dodge pickup on E. Market Street and arrested the driver, 61 year-old Cecil Gray Earl of Wellons Road, Smithfield for DWI. He was given a $500 bond and a court date of Jan. 29th.
