Two men were arrested Monday morning after Johnston County deputies were called to the parking lot of McDonald’s on Glen Road at the I-40/NC42 interchange in Cleveland.
Around 3:15am, deputies said they located two people sleeping in their Hyundai passenger car in the parking lot. In plain sight, deputies reportedly saw a .380 handgun in the car.
Officers awakened both individuals and upon retrieving the firearm determined it had been reported stolen in Sampson County.
The passenger, Kevin Carl White, 18, of Willard, NC was charged with possession of a stolen firearm. White was held on a $25,000 bond at the Johnston County Jail.
The driver, Jordan Gigantana, 21, of Clinton, NC was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon. He was incarcerated on a $50,000 secured bond.
