HARNETT COUNTY – Two drivers died and one passenger was injured in a head-on collision in Harnett County. The crash was reported shortly after 5:00am Saturday in the 4700 block of US Highway 421, north of Lillington.
The fatal crash involved a Honda minivan and Ford Mustang. Both drivers were pinned in the wreckage and died at the scene. A passenger in the minivan was transported to Wake Med.
The roadway was shut down for several hours while the State Highway Patrol investigated the accident. The names of those involved has not been released.

What’s going on in Lillington, Lots of accidents, Maybe more Troopers needed to patrol the Highway for speeders and wreckless drivers.
This hwy should be 4 lanes . Two in each direction with a middle turning lane. This would eliminate unsafe passing. Slower vehicles would most likely use Slower right lane. The police are needed for speeders using the passing lane for excess speed.
