UPDATE: The Town of Smithfield Litter Sweep scheduled for Saturday, April 13th has been postponed. No make up date has been announced yet.
SMITHFIELD – Governor Roy Cooper has proclaimed April 13-27, 2019 as Litter Sweep time in North Carolina and encourages all North Carolinians to participate in the statewide roadside litter cleanup.
In conjunction with the NC Department of Transportation, the Town of Smithfield will hold a litter cleanup day on Saturday, April 13th from 7am until 11am. Participants will meet at the following locations:
- Smithfield Community Park, 600 E. Booker Dairy Road
- Bob Wallace Jaycee Kiddie Park, 350 S. Front Street
- Smith-Collins Park, 909 E. Lee Street
- Gertrude B. Johnson Park, 1222 W. Market Street
Litter Sweep provides an opportunity for civic groups, businesses, schools, churches, professional organizations, families and others to volunteer in keeping Smithfield clean and beautiful. All necessary cleanup supplies will be provided.
