Utility Contractor Injured After Contact With High-Voltage Power Line

WILSON’S MILLS – A utility contractor working on behalf of Duke Energy sustained a serious electrical shock Friday afternoon after coming into contact with a high-voltage power line.
The incident occurred near a substation on Wilson’s Mills Road, just south of US 70, where contract crews were working.
The injured worker was transported by Johnston County EMS to the hospital for treatment. The individual’s condition has not yet been released.
Duke Energy stated that safety is their top priority and that a full investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the incident.
