UTV Crash Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Seriously Injured
SAMPSON COUNTY, N.C. — A 26-year-old man was killed and a passenger seriously injured Tuesday evening after a utility terrain vehicle crashed and overturned near Dunn, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 6:26 p.m. on Old U.S. 421 (S.R. 1617) near the intersection with U.S. 421, about four miles outside Dunn just inside Sampson County.
Troopers said a 2025 Zhejiang CF Moto side-by-side, driven by Zachry B. Woodcock, 26, of Newton Grove, was traveling north on Old U.S. 421 when the rear driver’s-side tire came off the vehicle.
The vehicle went into a skid, ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned, authorities said. Both Woodcock and his passenger, Mark West, 55, of Dunn, were ejected from the vehicle.
Woodcock died at the scene, troopers said. West was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with serious injuries.
Investigators believe speed was a contributing factor in the crash. Impairment is not suspected, according to the Highway Patrol. Troopers also said neither occupant was wearing a restraint at the time of the crash.
The collision remains under investigation.

I hate to read this. I can’t imagine how hurt their families are. My sons dad just bought a side by side and it terrifies me. Prayers to everyone involved.
