WILSON’S MILLS – Wilson’s Mills Police arrested the driver and passenger of a car following a brief pursuit. On April 15 around 2:45pm, a Wilson’s Mills police officer attempted to stop a black Dodge Charger for a traffic violation on US 70 near Turnage Road.
The driver failed to stop and continued eastbound on US 70, at speeds of 65 to 70 miles per hour, to the Food Lion parking lot on South Pollock Street in Selma, approximately 3-1/2 miles away.
With the assistance of Selma Police, Wilson’s Mills Police attempted to take the female driver, identified as Terri Chappell, 45, of Clayton, into custody. Chappell reportedly resisted arrest and attempted to flee on foot. She was immediately subdued and handcuffed.
After a search of the vehicle, officers located suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, xanax, suboxone, marijuana, and related drug paraphernalia.
Both Chappell, and her male passenger, Koffi McShine, 43, of Selma were charged with multiple drug offenses. Chappell was also charged with fleeing to elude arrest, numerous traffic violations, as well as resisting an officer.
At the time of their arrests, police said Chappell and McShine were both out of jail on bond for unrelated charges.
Police seized the Dodge Charger.
