Authorities are treating a vehicle fire as arson. Around 2:00am Saturday, Princeton fire crews responded to a blaze that had engulfed a 2006 Ford Windstar van on Herring Road.
After crews had extinguished the burning van, they discovered 4 adjacent vehicles had been vandalized.
The van which was valued at $4,000 was ruled a total loss. Vandalism to a Nissan, Buick, Oldsmobile and Lincoln SUV parked nearby was estimated a $3,200.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and Johnston County Fire Marshal’s Office are jointly investigating.
