Victim’s Vehicle Struck By Thief’s Getaway Car, JCSO Says

BENSON – The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office has arrested one of two suspects wanted for a brazen theft.

Robert Manley Narron, age 35, of Bay Valley Road, Kenly was charged January 13 with felony breaking and entering, larceny, conspiracy, and injury to property.

On January 2 around 7:42pm, Narron and a second suspect are accused of going to an address on Elevation Road north of Benson and stealing scrap metal, conduit, and electrical breakers from a building. The items had a combined value of $4,000.

The victim reportedly spotted the suspect’s vehicle on the property. When he went to confront them on his pickup, the suspects fled. While fleeing, the getaway car collided with the victim’s truck causing approximately $7,000 in damage. The two suspects managed to get away but were later identified by sheriff’s investigators.

Narron was held without bond at the Johnston County Detention Center.

The name of the second suspect has not been released pending their arrest.

No injuries were reported.
