A man wanted on warrants in two counties was apprehended by Smithfield Police. Around 8:30pm last Friday, Nov. 20th, an officer was on patrol and attempted to stop a 2018 Nissan Altima on Massey Street for a violation. The driver refused to pull over and led police on a brief chase ending on Collier Street.
The driver, 29 year-old Rakim Hikeem Cox of Tarboro Street, Wilson was charged with felony fleeing to elude arrest, reckless driving and resisting a public officer. Cox was wanted in Wilson County on a felony warrant for habitual larceny. He was wanted by Nash County authorities on a misdemeanor larceny warrant.
Cox was confined on a $370,000 bond at the Johnston County Jail. The Nissan was seized by police.
