Maintenance crews with the N.C. Department of Transportation have closed a section of Weaver Road in Wayne County this week to replace a collapsed pipe.
The work is expected to take approximately three weeks.
An on-site detour is in place. Motorists can get around the closure by using Old Grantham Road, Falling Creek Church Road and U.S. 13.
The DOT reminds drivers to slow down and use extra caution when approaching a work zone.
