West Johnston High has named Josh Plisko as the school’s new head baseball coach.
“I am extremely excited to have been named head coach of West Johnston’s baseball program. I would like to thank the administration, athletic director, and community for their support and look forward to preparing the program for continued success,” said Plisko.
Plisko served as the team’s assistant coach for the past two years. Plisko replaces former head coach Joey Worley, who served in the position for two years. The team had a 12-2 conference standing in 2016.
“Coach Plisko brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the head coaching position that will propel our baseball program toward continued success in the Greater Neuse River Conference and beyond,” said athletic director Jimmy Williams.
Plisko is a health and physical education teacher at West Johnston.
“I am confident Coach Plisko will work hard to continue the tradition of excellence in our baseball program,” said principal Paula Coates. “He is a person of integrity who is committed to player development both academically and athletically.”
