Wiley Nickel Suspends Campaign, Endorses Roy Cooper For US Senate In 2026

RALEIGH – Today (Tuesday), Wiley Nickel suspended his campaign for US Senate and put his full support behind Roy Cooper’s campaign for Senate in 2026.

“We started this campaign to send Thom Tillis packing. Well, mission accomplished I guess!” Nickel stated in a press release. “It was an honor to work alongside Governor Cooper in the State Senate and in Congress. I’ve seen firsthand his steady, bipartisan leadership. He listens, he shows up, and he gets things done. From making North Carolina the top state for business to guiding our communities through natural disasters, his leadership has made a real difference.”

“And for so many of us, including me, he’s been an inspiration to step up and serve. I proudly endorse Governor Cooper for US Senate and look forward to doing everything I can to help him flip this Senate seat from red to blue,” said former Congressman Wiley Nickel.

Nickel added, “I’ve still got a lot of work left to do; that part hasn’t changed. Public service is a part of who I am and you’ll hear more from me soon.”

  1. While Cooper was governor his AG used lawfare to steal a legislature responsibility (redistricting) from GOP control and give it to a “committee”. No more Cooper.

  2. Kamala Harris’s attorney general buddy ROY ASBERRY COOPER III, won’t win. Please tell Cooper campaign to stop sending fundraising texts to all of our phones, Two days in a row, ENOUGH! I replied STOP today.

  3. Choice there went from bad to worst. Skipped the “worse” part altogether. It doesn’t take much to see that Cooper has his power hungry eyes set on the Oval Office, this is just a stepping stone. God us all that day.

    • Cause he knows he can’t beat Cooper. Cooper will win the seat. I don’t like it but NC is purple now close to it. People would have crawled through glass to vote for Trump. My self included. The Republican nominee won’t get that support. Trump isn’t on the ballot. That’s why Thom is retiring. He knows he would lose to Cooper. Coop is seen as a moderate. Not a far left lib. And his reputation is he was a good governor. He won twice.

    • Re “The TRUTH always prevails”

No. That’s one of many lies the culture has programmed people to believe that it is a “fact” ..

It’s mostly a beloved good sounding fantasy, wishful non-thinking, or pure propaganda —but not reality. Because most often the truth does NOT prevail in real life. Eg almost everyone believes government is here to serve the pubic, that we live in a democracy, that the Feds is a governmental institution, that vaccines are “safe and effective”, that humans are wise (=homo sapiens), and so forth, when all of these “truths” (and tons more) are “lies that prevail” …

Gosh, a leading criminal of the genocidal US regime, William Casey, a former CIA director, had even confirmed this reality over 40 years ago when he stated “We’ll know our Disinformation Program is complete when everything the American public [and global public] believes is false.”

      But then…

“The masses have never thirsted after truth. They turn aside from evidence that is not to their taste, preferring to deify error, if error seduces them. Whoever can supply them with illusions is easily their master; whoever attempts to destroy their illusions is always their victim.” — Gustave Le Bon, in 1895

“Repeating what others say and think is not being awake. Humans have been sold many lies…God, Jesus, Democracy, Money, Education, etc. If you haven’t explored your beliefs about life, then you are not awake.” — E.J. Doyle, songwriter

  4. I can’t believe anyone would believe that Cooper has NC’s best interests in mind. He is a power hungry career politician who cares only about himself and what his next move is to elevate himself. Electing him as dog catcher would be a mistake much less as a senator.
