Wilson’s Mills Police: Marijuana And Guns Found During Traffic Stop

WILSON’S MILLS – A routine traffic stop for speeding resulted in the arrest of a Princeton man on felony drug charges.

On Monday, July 22 around 10:07pm, a Wilson’s Mills police officer stopped a female driving a 2010 Jeep Patriot on Highway 70 Business near Dasu Drive.

During the stop, a strong odor of marijuana was reportedly detected by the officer. A search of the vehicle yielded drug paraphernalia that included plastic bags and a digital scale. Five bags filled a green leafy substance, suspected to be marijuana, was found along with three loaded handguns each concealed within the seating compartment.

The passenger, identified as Naseem Octavis Hammond, age 19, from Princeton, NC reportedly admitted that all the items found belonged to him.

Hammond was arrested and charged with possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, felony maintaining a vehicle to keep or sell a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and three counts of carrying a concealed weapon.

The Jeep was seized by Wilson’s Mills Police.

Hammond was transported to the Johnston County Detention Center.

The female driver was not arrested but was cited for speeding 69 in 55 mph zone and released.
