UPDATE: Wilson’s Mills Police Identify Hit-And-Run Suspect, Warrant Issued

WILSON’S MILLS, N.C. — A suspect has been identified and a warrant issued in connection with a hit-and-run crash that escalated into a second collision in Wilson’s Mills last week.

Police Chief A.Z. Williams said investigators have identified the suspect as 29 year-old Damoni Sharmir Foster. A warrant has been obtained charging Foster with misdemeanor hit-and-run.

Despite being identified, Foster has not yet been located.

According to Chief Williams, Foster is believed to be residing somewhere in the Johnston or Harnett County area. His current address is unknown.

Authorities also said Foster’s driver’s license is currently suspended and he has an outstanding failure-to-appear charge in Harnett County related to a drug paraphernalia offense.

The hit-and-run warrant stems from an incident that occurred around 11:30 a.m. on June 17 on Powhatan Road in the Wilson’s Mills town limits.

Police said a 2004 Ford F-150 crossed the centerline while entering Powhatan Road from a private driveway and collided with a southbound Dodge Charger. The driver of the pickup allegedly left the scene and was later involved in a second collision with the same vehicle after the Dodge driver followed the truck for approximately two miles.

Investigators later located the pickup truck and determined the registered owner was not driving at the time of the incident. The owner told police the vehicle had been used by a part-time employee known as “Damoni,” which ultimately led investigators to identify Foster as the suspect.

Anyone with information about Damoni Sharmir Foster’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Wilson’s Mills Police Department at 919-938-3885.

  1. That “employer” is full of it. There is no way I’m letting anyone drive my vehicle without seeing their drivers license.
