Woman Breaks Into Same Store Three Times, JCSO Says

BENSON – Johnston County sheriff’s detectives have arrested a female burglary suspect they say broke into the same business three times, minutes apart. It happened at Mac’s General Merchandise on Highway 242, about four miles south of Benson.

Around 12:30am Wednesday, Aug. 23, video security cameras captured the suspect walk up to the rural store and pry open a door. The suspect took a trash bag from the store and filled it with food items, drinks and tobacco products before leaving.

Cameras captured the same suspect return about 15 minutes later. The burglar entered through the same door previously forced open, and once again filled a bag with merchandise, fleeing on foot. Minutes later, the same suspect returned a third time and took more items.

Altogether, $4,196 in merchandise and cash was stolen.

Each time the suspect entered the business and left with merchandise was considered a separate break-in and larceny.

Angela Jean Reagan, 57, of the 4400 block of Wood’s Crossroads Road, Dunn was charged Aug. 28 with three counts of breaking and entering, and three counts of larceny. She was held on a $60,000 secured bond on the six felony charges.
