A 31 year-old woman remains hospitalized today (Thursday) after being stabbed several times with a knife during a domestic incident at a southern Johnston County home.
Around 9:15pm Wednesday, Johnston County deputies responded to a disturbance call on Brock Road, off Reedy Prong Church Road near the Sampson County line. Officers allege the victim’s boyfriend threatened to kill the woman then pulled out a knife and stabbed her multiple times. When she tried to dial 911 with her cell phone he tried to take the phone away.
The victim was hospitalized with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The male suspect was not injured in the incident but was transported to the hospital for evaluation. Investigators said alcohol may have played a factor.
Once discharged he will be charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, communicating threats, and interfering with emergency communications.
