Expired: Woman Tells Police Cocaine That Fell Out Of Jacket Not Hers

Selma Police have arrested a 53 year-old woman they allege dropped cocaine inside a store on Dec. 28th.

An employee at Family Dollar at 107 N. Pollock Street called police around 10:00am and finding a small bag of a white powdery substance on the floor near the cash register.  Police said the bag contained a half gram of cocaine.

Officers reviewed video surveillance footage in the store and allegedly noticed a customer pull money out of her pocket to pay for merchandise and the baggie of cocaine drop to the floor unnoticed by the customer.

Police said they recognized the customer as 53 year-old Latonya Holder Archibald of W. Waddell Street in Selma.

Police went to her home and arrested Archibald for felony cocaine possession.

Archibald allegedly told police the jacket she was wearing inside the store wasn’t hers and she would not have reached inside the pocket if she would have known there was cocaine inside.

Archibald was jailed under a $10,000 bond.
