Johnston County residents can get tips and advice on how to protect their families and their homes from future disasters at the Johnston Medical Mall in Smithfield on Tuesday, January 29th.
FEMA flood mitigation specialists will be available to answer questions about home repair and resiliency, making disaster plans, the importance of flood insurance and the opportunity for attendees to locate their properties on the floodplain map.
Mitigation is an effort to reduce the loss of life and property damage by lessening the impact of disaster.
The mitigation specialists will be available on Jan. 29th from 4:00PM until 6:00PM at the Johnston Medical Mall at 514 N. Brightleaf Boulevard in Smithfield.
